How do we start?
to sow water?

In 2021, we began supporting young people from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, in response to the threat of an interoceanic megaproject in our region. In the context of drought and wind erosion we are experiencing in our region, fewer and fewer young people want to farm the land and engage in agricultural activities, and so they are also forgetting about the rivers, where waste from local communities flows into. Supporting young people through the arts and eco-technologies has offered the opportunity to change their relationship with water and their connection to the land.
This has inspired us to explore other countries and remember that we can generate solutions from our own territories for the care, revitalization, and defense of rivers.
We are the rivers, in which we swim.
We are a social enterprise, founded by Perseida Tenorio, a Zapotec Binni Yaati graduate with a degree in Food Engineering, and Guiebeu Ballesteros, an Afro-Mexican graduate with a degree in Molecular Biology. We are both originally from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Oaxaca. We migrated to Mexico City and Querétaro for years to attend university; however, due to the complex context of our region, we decided to return and begin community-based initiatives for the recovery and revitalization of rivers.

You cannot defend what you do not love.
We have learned from the various water eco-technologies in Ecuador, Brazil, Costa Rica and Mexico. We seek to bring these water conservation eco-technologies to rural communities in Latin America and the Caribbean. Many of these technologies have been forgotten in the communities. However, it is enough to observe nature to learn from it and replicate the balance in the system.
